The Modernist Design Collective was founded by Rob Gini and Felipe Florez in October 2023. Built on a shared appreciation for timeless design, the space reflects their belief that the most compelling interiors come from thoughtfully mixing pieces across eras.

What began as a natural evolution of their modern furniture store, Direct Furniture Modern Home, has grown into a dynamic multi-dealer destination for new, contemporary, vintage, and mid-century furniture, along with rugs, vintage clothing, art, and carefully sourced found objects—all within more than 30,000 square feet.

Inspired by New York City, The Modernist is organized into walkable “neighborhoods.” On the vintage side, Uptown, Downtown, and The Village offer everything from larger MCM dealer spaces to boutique-style shops and eclectic vintage finds. The Upper Westside and West Village are anchored by Direct Furniture Modern Home and Beaux Arts Home, showcasing customizable modern furnishings, with Designer Rug Warehouse offering hundreds of rugs at a range of price points.

At its heart, The Modernist is about community. Home to more than 35 small businesses, the space was created to support independent dealers and local entrepreneurs. Every visit supports that vision—and we’re grateful to everyone who walks through our doors.

Rooted in the belief that great spaces come from mixing timeless pieces across eras.
